ASTM A312 TP304:
Corrosion Resistance: Good resistance to a wide variety of chemicals.
Heat Resistance: Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C.
Weldability: Excellent weldability by all standard fusion methods.
ASTM A312 TP304L (L for Low Carbon):
Corrosion Resistance: Similar to TP304 but with higher resistance due to lower carbon content.
Heat Resistance: Similar to TP304.
Weldability: Lower carbon content reduces the risk of sensitization during welding. Excellent weldability.
ASTM A312 TP316:
Corrosion Resistance: Superior corrosion resistance compared to TP304, especially against chlorides and other industrial solvents.
Heat Resistance: Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C.
Weldability: Excellent weldability.
ASTM A312 TP316L (L for Low Carbon):
Corrosion Resistance: Similar to TP316 but with higher resistance due to lower carbon content. Especially good in chloride environments.
Heat Resistance: Similar to TP316.
Weldability: Lower carbon content reduces the risk of sensitization during welding. Excellent weldability.
